Hi Allen,

Do you think you or your readers would be interested in learning about Nashville's Hot Tomato Haiku Contest for tomato-related haiku?

It grew out of the Tomato Art Fest (http://tomatoartfest.com/) and attracted hundreds of entries last year. Entry is free and we're giving away some great prizes! You don't have to be from Nashville (or even Tennessee) to enter, though winners should be willing to read their winning haiku at this year's festival (August 8th).

I'd be glad to provide any more info I can. Details and entry at www.bookfool.com

Thanks for your time!
-Eileen Fickes

I know you’re not a fan of most contests, but I thought your readers might be interested in a poetry contest that is running right now at the online literary journal Narrative Magazine. I really like the work they publish. The First Annual Poetry Contest has a deadline of July 18, and details are at http://narrativemagazine.com/node/53403. There is also a monetary award for poetry and other forms of writing chosen within the last year called The Narrative Prize. Submissions will be accepted until June 15, and can be accessed at http://narrativemagazine.com/node/421.
