Goodreads: Social Network For Poets

I try to stay active in the social networks to which I belong, and I probably belong to too many. I’ve just added another one.

I don’t know why I haven’t heard of this one before. Goodreads is a social networking site for people who like to read. Well, today I signed up and have reviewed 24 books thus far. I’ve got several hundred to go.

Goodreads looks to be a great site. You pick books to review then share them with your friends. You can also join groups, just like in other networking sites, and I joined the Poetry Group. Surprise!

Not only can you review books you’ve already read, but you can also list the books you are currently reading as well as those you want to read when you have the time. And there’s even a place to post your own writings. I may actually put a few of my previously published poems up there to see if I get any reaction. I can hardly wait to dig in and start making friends.

If you like to read, I encourage you to join Goodreads. Look for me. My profile is Poetwarrior. Add me as your friend and let’s share our reading lists.
