Poet Diane Middlebrook died at at 68. She died of cancer. Yesterday.

During her illustrious career, Middlebrook authored some best selling biographies, including “Anne Sexton: A Biography” and “Her Husband: Hughes and Plath, a Marriage.” She was working on a biography of Ovid at the time of her death, which is a work the entire world can look forward to.

Like, love her, hate her, or be indifferent, but Diane Middlebrook is a poet who matters and will matter for a long time. Many will miss her.
